Biography of the Honorable Bishop Ellis E. Murchison, Sr.
B ishop Ellis E. Murchison Sr., a native of Chicago, IL born the 3rd child of 12 from the union of William & Delores Murchison.
Bishop Murchison obtained his primary education in Maywood, IL. While residing in Chicago he was engaged in the world’s goods and ended up incarcerated. Once he was released, God had another plan and in 1976 he and Elect Lady Elaine Murchison united in holy matrimony and transitioned to Milwaukee, WI where he began the work of his ministry. To this union they were blessed with three vessels; Andrew, Elise & Ellis, Jr.
This was the beginning of the call on Bishop Murchison’s life when he was baptized in the name of Jesus and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost under the leadership of the late Bishop Lavell Tyler. Shortly after he was ordained a Deacon and. while yet being a servant, the Lord called him into the ministry in 1982 under the leadership of Pastor Joseph Thompson.
In 1983 Bishop Murchison took on the task of being the overseer when the Lord called Pastor Thompson home. In 1984 he was ordained Elder and was installed the Pastor over the Pentecostal Power Church and with a great cloud of witness he accepted the work. During the years of preaching and teaching, counseling many souls were saved, set free, healed & delivered. While working under God’s anointing as a servant and PPC, Inc., he was ordained Bishop in 1997 and now serve on the executive board of Pentecostal Power Churches, Inc.
In 2003 he was appointed Northern District Bishop over eight churches. He currently serve as the Assistant Presiding Bishop over the Unified Churches of the Apostolic Faith where Bishop Howard Bracy is currently presiding. He served faithfully as the assistant Presiding Bishop with the late Presiding Dr. Bishop Earl Parchia for 11 years. During his tenure, he also received his Associates in Theology from Cyprus Bible College.
Presently, under Bishop Murchison’s excellent leadership, Pentecostal Power is experiencing a holistic that is spirit filled. Pentecostal Power has grown spiritually through meaningful worship with increased love and fellowship. Many ministries has been established through his spiritual guidance which include an Power In Knowledge After School Program, Ministry on Wheels, Prison Ministry, Community Outreach (cleaning the community, hygiene drive, hats & glove giveaway), Holiday Food Drive, Summer Food Program & Vocational Bible School. These ministries are designed to empower and prepare children and families accomplish their visions and goals as they fulfill their purpose.
He constantly conducts workshops, revivals & seminars to train those in leadership position to face boldly the new challenges of a changing world and a changeless Christ. Bishop Murchison continually strives for a better church and community through Christ. This is evident through the boundless energy he displays and his enthusiasm for the growth and ministries of the Pentecostal Power Church of the Apostolic Faith.
The Lord in his infinite wisdom called Elect Lady Elaine Murchison home on June 23, 2011. He later reunited in holy matrimony to Evang. Paulette Lee Murchison on August 31, 2013. Despite of the heartaches and sleepless nights, Bishop Murchison is yet persevering and enduring “hardness as a good soldier,” and will continue to preach on the Apostolic foundation with clarity & authority!
Pentecostal Power Church is a non-profit organization that teaches the life changing and powerful message of victorious living through the faith of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. In short, we exhibit the love and connection not only between our members but throughout the community. Pentecostal Power Church has been in existence for over 30 years under the leadership of the late Elder Joseph Thompson and is currently under the leadership of Bishop Ellis Murchison, Sr. Pentecostal Power Church has brought together a wide range of activities and ministries for all age groups of interests.

Our purpose is to continually build our church to make a difference in people’s lives and consistently meet their needs. In addition, to pursue the teaching of God’s word and provide a positive atmosphere for growth and development by encouraging and educating.
